Dr. D Rajendran is a prominent and experienced Ophthalmalogist from Chennai with specialty in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Presently he spearheads operations at D R Eye Care Centre (Madipakkam) as a Medical Director and is also a senior Refractive Surgeon and Cataract consultant at Apollo Institute of Ophthalmology attached to Apollo Day Surgery, Alwarpet, Chennai.

Dr. Rajendran, an alumnus of Stanley Medical College (Chennai), successfully achieved MBBS and MS (Ophthalmalogy) degrees from the aforementioned institute. He holds past experience as Chief Refractive Surgeon at Vasan Eye Care Hospital (Saidapet) as well as Chief Phaco Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer at Vasan Eye Care (Madipakkam). For over 12 years, Dr. Rajendran has done a high volume of cataract & refractive surgeries in Chennai at Prem’s Eye Clinic & Vasan Eye Care Hospital. In the course of his career, Dr. Rajendran successfully executed thousands of cataract surgeries & over 10000 Refractive procedures (Lasik, Femtolasik, Epilasik). His experience in implantation of ICLs (Phakic IOLS) for correction of refractive errors is also stupendous. Dr. Rajendran has executed several cases of pterygium excision with conjunctival-limbal autografting. He has managed a large number of keratoconus cases through procedures like speciality contact lenses, C3R and is one of the foremost ophthalmalogists in Chennai to employ Topo linked customised Laser treatment in cases afflicted with keratoconus condition.

Dr. Rajendran has presented copious papers & instruction courses in various conferences. He also has contributed towards medical training of aspiring refractive surgeons. He has played a significant role in spreading information and raising awareness through the medium of television and radio talk shows.
